Long Read artwork often needs to introduce the main characters, period, location and mood in a single image.

I usually build the composition around one clear focal point, with smaller scenes and details supporting the main story without taking attention away from it.

Designed for Editorial Layout

These pieces are created with the printed page in mind, leaving space for headings and other text where needed.

Period details, atmosphere and the relationships between the characters all help the artwork sit naturally alongside the story and the magazine layout.
